Dubious "award winning free cloud based software for contact centers"

Some dubious offers of an "award winning free cloud based software for contact centers" are not really free of charge. There you have even to pay for incoming calls. Why do you need to pay for something what you can get FOR FREE?

Call CenterIf you take a look at all the "Award winning" contact center solutions at news.tmcnet.com and you read about the connection between TMC and the magazine Customer, then you'll know that this "awards" are only for making advertisements in their magazines. There is no reason listed why this software should be better than the other ones. So they have even not seen the software for giving their awards, or does anybody really think that they could make a test of 27 call/contact center software within one year? They are producing a newspaper for consumer and not a call/contact center magazine.

if we take a look at the promoted "FREE" Fenero offer and scroll a down nearly to the end of the site, then we see that the software is only in their cloud system available. There is written:

There are no software costs for Fenero - ever. You simply pay for the following, which helps us keep the lights on and continue to provide you with great service:
  • $1.75 per month for a local DID
  • $2.00 per month for a toll-free DID
  • $0.02 cents per minute for inbound (local & toll-free) and outbound calls
  • $0.02 cents per session for live customer chats
  • $0.10 cents per GB of screen recording storage (call recordings are FREE)
  • $250 per month for support (optional paid support plan)

If we are comparing the costs then the price for the VoIP minutes are 3-4 times higher than the offer from the listed VoIP providers in my blog and you will get even charged for the incoming calls. For this are the "NO HIDDEN COSTS" written nearly at the end of page. The price for the VoIP minutes written on the page are only for US calls. Prices for calls to other countries are not available or the same 3-4 times more expensive then other offers. In the case if they are 3-4 times higher than other offers, then it will be very expensive for contact centers calling mobile phones in other countries. Recently I got again a real slavery offer. As the company, which is offering it does not expect to pay something to the center they have even forgotten to add any earnings in their offer. Read first the offer and my explanations afterwards:

Thank you for your interest in the Virtual Voice Technologies (VVT) Cruise campaign where you will have direct access to the cloud VVT system from the Clients servers in Florida, US, this campaign is only available to Pvt. Ltd companies that are registreded with the Minestry.
This is the system and man power requirements to get this campaign for 2 logins per agent, each agent will handle dual systems, minimum 10 agents. NO EXCEPTIONS and you will get 2 free agents login so please use them from day one so you have 12 agents working from start.
It’s important for you to start with all the required emplyees from day one, if not you will not be profitable and you will be terminated right away. we do not accept call center with bad working habits, all required conditions need to be meet from 1st day of dialing such as man power, working hours, working days.

if you take a look at the world largest cruise ships at Wikipedia then you see that the average capacity of such a cruise ship is around 4000 passengers. 

Why this offer is a slavery offer?

  • Ship cruises are expensive. The last minute discounted prices around US$ 100/night/person. The promoter of such tours have the problem to sell the beds at a normal way. For this they are offering last minute tickets with discounts up to 75%. Think about how many cold calls you have to make

  • You see in their offer, that an agent has to handle two calls at the same time. That means they don't have already enough money to make a lead generation on a normal way.

  • The center has to rent their technology
    Sorry, but if someone likes that you use their technology, than they have to provide it for free and they have to pay for the time the agents get their training!

  • The center has to pay for the VoIP minutes
    Sorry, but for whom they agents are calling? This one, which likes to earn has to pay for the VoIP minutes!
    They even like to reduce their phone bill, because the transferred call will run on the call centers bill!!!

  • An agent has to make 200+ calls each hour
    That are 100 calls per line and hour. In average speaking time (sorry playback time - they like to use Avatar) is 36 seconds for each call. if I get such a call then I'll hang up immediately. With such a system is a sale not possible. In this case we can use speech recognition too and don't need agents for it. The caller cannot say more than Hello, yes and no in this time.

I would not buy or accept such leads. In such a case I can buy phone directory data too! They are even cheaper.

In summary is this offer more worse then a SCAM. The client likes even to earn from the call center!!!

Call Center Slavery Offers

Call centers read the given scripts and conditions very carefully

As more closely I take a look in the offshore outsourcing business as more I come to the conclusion that either the offshore call center themselves should get deceived or it should help to cheat others.

I got the following email with attachments forwarded. For easier reading I have opened the documents and pasted their content into the email. The script shows how the customer is getting betrayed.

It is a game to make the called one afraid that he does not get his medication in the future. That is already a big fault in selling. That has nothing to do with a serious sale. It looks like the client has no chance to sell his products in a serious way to someone. For this purpose he need to use such criminal methods.

If you are looking at the from me read marked parts of the email, then you see that you get only paid if the lead is interested in receiving Diabetic testing supplies. All other medications are not getting paid.

I’ll suggest in this case making for your own security a recording of the transferred call. This is technical possible if your VoIP system is staying in the media path after the transfer. It uses a little bit more traffic but you have afterwards something what you can present to any fraud investing official.


The client is only paying per lead and it seems to be very hard to sell his products. Why else should he write already the fraud into the script?

 

If we take a look at the listed domains in the signature than we find out that:

  • diabeticdesk.com is also a new domain, registered at November 23, 2014. This site is registered to an India address and has a very high risk.
  • classesanddegree.com (2016-02-25 Link removed - Domain already not exists) and diabeticdesk.com are hosted at a server, which have one more high risk site on it: ropemediahouse.com
  • Interesting is in any case that ropemediahous.com and classesanddegree.com (2016-02-25 Link removed - Domain already not exists) have the same owner, who does even not know what is a street and a house number:

If we take a look at the website www.diabeticdesk.com then we know why only leads for diabetic measurement products are getting paid. There is no other product offered then diabetic measurements. Drugs are not offered. For this the necessary drugs will not get shipped. It would be better to get a campaign from or for a drugstore. In such a case the call center will not cheat some people.

 

The name John Krawczyk sounds and seems to be a Polish name. In combination with the facts above I remember an old Austrian proverb: “Come and visit Poland - Your car is already there.”

It seems for me that there is an organized fraud happening. It can be possible too, that John Krawczyk is getting used from the scammer from India.

GOautodial is an open source web based call center system based on CentOS. It automatically installs the GOautodial applications (GOadmin, GOreports and GOagent), Vicidial, Mysql, PHP, Asterisk, Limesurvey and other open source software to have a fully functional call center system. An open source predictive dialer and inbound IVR + ACD system that rocks.

GOautodial is based on the Asterisk framework, which is sponsored by Digium. The Asterisk project started in 1999 when Mark Spencer released the initial code under the GPL open source license. Since that time, it has been enhanced and tested by a global community of thousands. Today, Asterisk is maintained by the combined efforts of Digium and the Asterisk community.

Today, there are more than one million Asterisk-based communications systems in use, in more than 170 countries. Asterisk is used by almost the entire Fortune 1000 list of customers. Most often deployed by system integrators and developers, Asterisk can become the basis for a complete business phone system, or used to enhance or extend an existing system, or to bridge a gap between systems.
