Offshore Outsourcing & Scammer

Blog about offshore outsourcing and scammer in the outsourcing industry

Email Scammer: star-technologies.webstarts.com - contactstartechnologies@gmail.com - Update

Financial FreedomIt seems that the last email scam described at "Spammer & Scammer: star-technologies.webstarts.com - contactstartechnologies@gmail.com" has not brought any success. For this Star Technologies has sent out a new spam/scam email with a little bit more information. The campaign description seems too good to be true.

Even mathematics is not the strongest site of this scammer. 10 agents :* $1100/per month = $11000 and not $10500 like the offered bank guarantee.

As the working hours are given as Indian hours, which should not matter for a form filling process, can the client be only in India or up to 2 hours in front. This makes the offer even more suspect, because in this area is no traditional outsourcing country available, where wages of $1100/agent per month are getting paid.

Spammer & Scammer: star-technologies.webstarts.com - contactstartechnologies@gmail.com

Theft - man in front of a computerAs most the scammer escaped they are trying now to get in contact with centers by sending out mass emails. I can only warn from making business on this way. Let us take the example from star-technologies.webstarts.com:

  • webstarts.com is hosting the site star-technologies.webstarts.com for free.
For this you see their promotion on the website of star-technologies.webstarts.com on the bottom line: Create A Free Website With WebStarts.com

  • star-technologies.webstarts.com is only a subdomain from webstarts, com and does not require an own registration as an domain

  • star-technologies.webstarts.com has no address written on their website

  • star-technologies.webstarts.com has only a free gmail.com address

  • Another contact possibility is only their Skype ID: contactstartechnologies

If you try to make business with them then you have nothing to find them physically. They have done everything to hide themselves in the anonymity of the Internet. They are only using free services, because they have not enough money available to register their own domain and present themselves. Such subdomains and free services are normally used only from private people for their hobby websites. In business are they only an alert of scam.

Here is their spam email:

I don't know which forms should get filled and from where the data should come. You can only be sure that the date are not coming from the traditional outsourcing countries, because there are the consumer data protected by law and are not allowed to get exported. The low wage countries will not outsource some of their work. For this the offer is nothing else then SCAM!!!

Update May 25, 2015: Email Scammer: star-technologies.webstarts.com - contactstartechnologies@gmail.com - Update

Scammer: Matrix Infotech - Farhan Khan - bpoprojects.co.in

Matrix Infotech - Farhan KhanThe scammer MatrixInfotech Farhan Khan made today the background check more interesting for me, because he tried to rescue himself with arguments. As he has seen that his arguments could not speak against the provided facts his language has becoming rude.

Let's take a look at the start with the facts. His upbringing and education is not as important. His rude behavior shows us only that he is not conflictable, his character and is for us not so important. It only disqualifies him to be a real businessman.

Who finds the irony in my words is allowed to laugh out loud. His very impressing starting page of his website:

Screenshot from the website of Matrix Infotech

Since the begin of the Internet I did not see such an impressing starting page. The kids in the primary school in Europe are making a better starting page than this one. Anyway, it comes better. It looks like this guy does not know the difference between years and months. At http://bpoprojects.co.in/about.html is written (failures are marked red):

What We Do
Matrix Info Tech is in operations since past 4 years. We are a PAN India company provides B.P.O & Data Entry services. The services we provide includes Contact Center services such as customer service, market research and surveys, verification, Back office services including data management, Scanning, indexing and storage of bulk and Confidential documents. We are one of the pioneers in Document Management doing end to end activity in the Telecommunication Industry. We are managing, Digitizing and of documents across various states in India and the numbers are increasing day by day.

In the last 4 years we have made our presence felt PAN India. We are backed up by a strong and dedicated work force of more than 1250 people working round the clock meeting the deadlines of our clients.

For proving the red marked part of the text we take a look into the domain registry data and find out that the domain got created on June 13, 2014 (the Facebook account got created June 6, 2014) - the domain is less than a year old. For this the company, if it is a registered company, cannot be already 4 years on the market. We find some other interesting facts in the domain registry data. The scammer does not know the difference of an area and a street. He does even not know his own postcode:

As HSR Layout seems to be a popular and rich area in Bangalore, he just invented this address and has even been too lazy for make a lookup for the postcode of this area. He has simple overseen that the area has street addresses too. A street number and the name A/B cross road is not sounding so good like HSR Layout. It seems that the scammer is living in the slums and only like to make a better impression then the reality shows. Even this fact naming only an area instead of a street shows that the scammer likes to hide himself in the anonymity of the Internet.

You find the place HSR Layout in Google maps:

Screenshot Google maps - HSR Layout

If you press a few times zoom out (-) then you get the name of the areas:

Google maps - HSR Layout

A look at http://ind.postcodequery.com/bDlmYQ==.html shows us that HSR Layout has the postcode 560102 and not like the spammer has written into his domain registration 123456.

The next fact are the offered campaigns from Matrix Infotech Inbound and Non Voice. There is no offer for any outbound process. Maybe he is afraid to offer a real campaign.

We find a lot of banking inbound and form filling processes. This shows us that the offers are only scam, because according to the law of Australia, European Union and USA are all this data protected. How can you handle any customer service if you don't have access to the customer data? Which forms do you like to fill if you have no customer data available?

Not one bank will give you access to their systems. So which kind of customer service do you like to provide?

One more error is shown if you try to download a project description file. You get the error "No preview available":

As I did not send any message to somebody from the domain @boxbe.com and I did not subscribe somewhere (see the unsubscribe link under their signature) is this email nothing else than SPAM. Following a link in an unsolicitous email will result in more spam, because with this you'll verify that your email exists. For this I did not press the "Click here to deliver your message" and the "Unsubscribe" link. I simple reported this e-mail as spam. In future, I'll not receive any message from them.

Don't expect any answer from me if you like to communicate with me per e-mail and use a similar service like boxbe.com. I'll even will not see in future a confirmation link from boxbe.com. If you are too lazy to filter out a few spam messages a week, then it would be better use snail mail instead of e-mail.

Spamming at LinkedIn and similar websites

Yesterday I got an email from a spammer. A part of the content is:

"As for the spamming I also have a marketing background, spamming is a great form of advertising, everyone gets spammed in one form or another when you really think about, look at a car, it has its manufacturer's name on it, drive down EDSA or any of the main roads in Manila and you will see globe, Smart all spamming. Its how businesses survive, by pushing your name out there, it proves that you are a genuine business."

I don’t know from where he has this marketing background, but in Europe you learn already in the second grade, that a permanently repetition of the same content will get ignored from your target audience. Observe it by yourself. You are mostly driving the same way daily. How many of the promotions, which get seen on the road, you recognize really? How many promotions are you watching in the TV and how many times you use the time of the promotion shown in TV for doing something different, like take a fresh beer from the refrigerator, going to toilet, etc.?

For this the promotion agencies are developing every time new ideas for making the promotion different and distribute it on a different way. In USA the marketing agencies have already found a way that their promotion does not get directly into the trash box. They are offering coupons, where you can save something by buying the product. These coupons are getting collected from the people. The negative aspects of this form of marketing you can even watch it at the Philippines at the TV station "Travel & Living" by watching "Extreme Couponing".

LinkedIn knows about spamming too. At LinkedIn is it possible to block updates from a member. This is done by a link on the upper right side of each posting at the start page, where you can block the postings from this member. In such a case all posts don’t get shown from this member. I have used it already for two members. It works for me perfect. The disadvantage of this is that I’m not see some interesting posts of this members too, but with this I can survive. Others, which are not spamming, have interesting posts too.

Spamming proves only that the product cannot get sold and the spammer is searching for someone, which is stupid enough for buying it. It never proves that the company or the product is genuine. A real and authentic product gets sold by the first advertisement.
